I’m so excited to share with you the logo design I created for Total Life Care Coaching with Krystal Reddick.
When I say Krystal is a dream client, she really is as she was clear on her objective, articulated her needs and trusted me to deliver a finished good with no pressure whatsoever.
She found her way to my inbox after receiving a ‘word of mouth referral’ from a trusted advisor and we went to work on what is now known as my DYNAMITE BRANDLUXE package which provides branding design that covers the custom creation of a logo, submarks, business card design, brand patterns and character illustration.
UNDERSTANDING HER BRAND
Krystal had an online presence but wanted to revamp the look of her business to align with the quality of care and service her company provides. As a life coach to women, she wanted her visual brand to resonate with her audience by being professional, comforting and feminine.
COLOR & INSPIRATION (MOOD) BOARD
Purple was Krystal’s color of choice and the butterfly was a significant symbol from her existing branding that I had to keep in tact.
I decided to match the purple color (PMS 267 C) with turquoise (PMS 3255 C) and a deep shade of pink (PMS 241 C) and she loved it!
CUSTOM BRAND CHARACTER
Once colors where established, it was on to my favorite part of the design process, the making of the character illustration!
I rarely work in sketch form so I forewarned Krystal that her character would be presented in full color. For me, this helps move the design process along AND shows how valuable the included hour long consultation can be. By speaking with my clients, I’m able to develop a character that rarely misses its mark the first time around. Don’t ask me how I do it…? [singing… it’s the God in me]
Krystal didn’t know this but after talking with her and seeing her brand photos, I realized she liked wearing her hair short so I knew the character had to honor her in that way. With that in mind, the character’s hair was designed in a beautiful short style with a bouncy up swing and has a hint of purple. The character itself is surrounded by butterflies and the color scheme mentioned above is sprinkled throughout.
LOGO TEXT
Next was working on the text portion of the logo which Krystal already let me know it should be with the script font called Photowall. The font was a $60 purchase for both print and online use. ? Well worth it as I’ll be using this font in her website branding that we’ll tackle in a few weeks from now.
Any script font pairs well with a straight font (also known as sans-serif fonts) as shown with the “coaching” portion of this logo.

FINAL LOGO DESIGN
SUBMARKS & PATTERNS
Now that Krystal’s logo for Total Life Care Coaching was complete, I went on to create the other elements necessary to have a fully cohesive visual presence.
